When a person turns 100 years old, it is something to celebrate. When an institution turns 100, it is a milestone. Associated Hebrew Schools indeed has many things to celebrate during its centennial year. As we reflect on the past, we are proud of our continual commitment to providing Jewish education to a cross-section of Toronto's Jewish community. Throughout our history, students from many different backgrounds have come together to learn, side-by-side, inside the walls of one of our many schools. In many cases, Associated has set the standard for Jewish education in this city, and we are proud of the many talented educators, past and present, who have called our school home.
But most of all, we are proud of our students. Our alumni continue to amaze us. Graduates from Associated are leaders in every field imaginable. From medicine to entertainment, from education to the boardroom, from rabbinics to the science labs - our students are innovators, and leaders. Time and time again we hear that they are proud to say Associated is where they were first inspired to achieve.
It is my pleasure and honour to serve as the President of the school. Our educational and administrative staff go beyond the call of duty to provide a high-quality educational environment for our students. I am deeply proud of their efforts. I am also very fortunate to have on our Board of Directors a talented group of volunteers, - people who feel a deep commitment to the school and whose dedication has helped shape this school into the exceptional institution it is. We are also blessed to be the beneficiaries of our Parent Teacher Council that steadfastly supports our students and our school through a wide variety of programs, activities and fundraising. To that note, I encourage any and all parents, grandparents and alumni to consider volunteering on one of our many committees. Our schools development and growth is only enhanced by your support.
We are fortunate to be the beneficiary of many donations by community members who believe in Associated's commitment to educational excellence. Because of the growth of our development office, our school has been able to establish a number of new programs to benefit our students. The Centre for Diverse Learning, our renowned Bet Hayeled preschool and the enhanced technology plan, are just three of the many areas that are benefiting from the generous donations from the community. Should you wish to make a donation to our school, or specifically to one of our many funds. Please visit the Development section of our website for more details.
There are so many ways to get involved in Associated, whether through the PTC, volunteering or making a donation, But I couldn't think of a more worthy institution to support. This website offers information for all of Associated's stakeholders: parents, students, alumni, staff, future parents and grandparents. Even if you are just interested in Jewish education in Toronto, I urge you to explore our site and see Associated's achievements for yourself. For over 100 years Associated has served Toronto's Jewish community, and we intend to lead in educational excellence for over 100 more.
